Teams who don't have defenders who are willing to clear the danger with their head are at a big disadvantage. Try to build their confidence with gradual progressions until they are able to put it long, high and wide. Communication is also important to claim the ball, as is the movement of fellow defenders to drop off and provide cover in case they miss the ball.
