Alan Fairbairn
Alan's family have been at the heart of football in Lowick for many years. He played for Lowick FC since he was a young teenager and has just recently retired from the 1st team. Last season 2008/9 Alan was manager of the mens team. Junior teams invariably thrive under his care, and benefit from his knowledge and experience.

Trevor Slater
Having represented the club at almost every age level from under 10's through to senior football Trevor was planning on many more playing seasons to come. That was until a double leg fracture brought his career to an abrupt end last season. Trevor has lived in Lowick all of his life and was very keen to remain a part of the club. He has signed up for his level 1 course early next year as a first step in what will hopefully be an even longer career in coaching.

Longhorsley v Lowick Athletic - 17th April
This re-arranged match was played on a fine Saturday morning away at Longhorsley and Lowick got back to winning ways after the controversial defeat at the hands of Rothbury.Stand-in 'keeper Fraser Gorvett had a superb 1st half and along with Lewis Tait, prevented Longhorsley from scoring. A new look Lowick midfield then created a chance for Mason Emery whos shot was well saved, Fin Mcreath then dragged a shot wide and Ben Fairbairn had a header from a corner which went over.
A half-time team talk seemed to have the desired effect as Lowick came out a much stronger team in the second half, and a few minutes in Ross Bagley dribbled in from the right and smashed the ball into the net, chances were now starting to come along more frequently and when a ball was flicked into the box by Bagley, Mason Emery was there to finish smartly. Lowick could have put the game to bed but when the ball fell to Marco 2 yards out he almost put it into the housing estate behind the pitch.
The game was wrapped up when Lowick counter attacked and Ben Fairbairn took the ball from Ross Hindmarsh and went up the field to score the third.
Thanks to Guy for refereeing the whole game and to Longhorsley for setting up the pitch etc.

Lowick Athletic v Belford - 6th March
League fixtures eventually resumed today after weather had seriously affected all matches since new year. This was in fact only Lowicks second game of the year but they looked sharp and almost took the lead inside 3 minutes when Ross Hindmarsh shot wide. Lowick needed a big win to remain in contention for the title but it was looking like one of those days when both Fraser and Marco missed chances. The lead eventually came when a goalmouth scramble resulted in Thomas Warcup tapping home.
The lead was then doubled a few minutes later when a deep cross into the box from Ryan Rutter deceived the keeper and found the net. Lowick were now playing the kind of football that has propelled them to the top of the league and when Marco set up Ben Fairbairn he finished in style to make it 3-0, surprisingly that was Fairbairns first goal of the season but he wasted no time in claiming his second when a weak goal kick found him on the half way line and he lobbed it straight back over his head to make it a comfortable 4-0 at half time.
Stand in 'keeper and debutant Fin Mcreath made way for Thomas to take a turn in goal at the start of the second half and after only a few minutes Lowick continued their scoring when a fine team goal involving Ross Bagley, Ross Hindmarsh and Fraser Gorvett resulted in Fraser thumping an unstoppable header past the keeper. Ross Bagley then set up Ross Hindmarsh who tapped home his second of the game before Bagley then claimed a goal for himself finishing a clever free-kick from Lambert.
Marco had only failed to score in 1 match before today and it was looking like being another frustrating day until a goal-line handball gave him the chance from the penalty spot, he duly smashed it home and wrapped up the game for Lowick.
This was by far the best performance of the season from the lads and the management team were delighted at the way they passed the ball and took their chances.
Credit must also go to Belford who only had 6 players but they did nothing wrong and some good defensive work prevented Lowick from scoring even more.
Final Score: Lowick 5 Belford 0

Lowick Athletic v Morpeth Legends - 23rd January
The season eventually resumed today after a lengthened christmas break and the weather has had an impact on the pitches, a very heavy and bumpy playing surface didn't help anybody and it prevented Lowick from playing their usual free-flowing football.
Perhaps a bit too much Turkey and chocolates were consumed over the holidays as well because we were nowhere near our best.
Things did start well for Lowick though as Ross Hindmarsh created a chance for himself and finished well with a strike back across the keeper. Then followed 10 minutes of scrappy football in the mud, passes going astray, people giving the ball away too much and just a general indiscipline which hasn't really been seen this season.
The lead was doubled nearing half time when a goal-kick from Morpeth found Ben Fairbairn and from inside his own half, he hit a perfect half volley which cleared everybody and was on its way in when Ross Bagley cheekily nodded it over the line. Then just a few minutes later and after weeks of trying and countless demonstrations by the coaches....we scored a header from a corner!! It was Marco who swung the corner over and Ross Bagley who scored his second and the teams third with a well timed jump and header.
The second half saw Alan and Trevor pulling their hair out as we missed numerous chances to put the game out of reach, Fraser could have had a hat trick and Thomas missed from about 1/2 a yard out!
Ben then moved into midfield and straight away had a fantastic effort from distance saved well by the Morpeth keeper before another corner resulted in a goal, the defenders couldn't clear and Thomas Warcup smashed it home. And with just minutes remaining Ross Bagley completed his hat trick after working his way into the box and finishing right footed, there were suspicions of an own goal but the management felt generous and awarded it to Ross.
So another fine win and with 2 games to go Lowick are in with a chance of being crowned champions.
Final Score: Lowick 5 Morpeth 0

Lowick Athletic 3 – 0 Longhoughton Raiders - 12th December
Another freezing cold morning and another 3 points for Lowick was the story of the day in Wooler on this the last league fixture of the year. The pitches passed an early morning inspection after heavy overnight frost threatened to stop the games and the Claret and Blues went on to record their 7th victory of the season.
Lowick played some of their best football of the season and could have been home and dry by half time had it not been for a great display from the Longhoughton 'keeper. The lead eventually came when debutant Mason Emery dinked the ball into the box and ROSS BAGLEY flicked it past the keeper. It remained 1-0 until half-time with the help of stand-in goalie Ross Hindmarsh who played through the game despite injury.
After a managerial team talk at half time Athletic came out even stronger in the 2nd period and doubled their lead when a shot from distance deflected into the path of MARCO LAMBERT who scored yet again. And it was 3-0 only a few minutes later when FRASER GORVETT scored a great individual goal which wrapped things up in style for Lowick who end this first part of the season unbeaten and playing some fantastic football.
The coaching staff would like to congratulate the boys for their attitude, commitment and effort in this first few months of the season and long may it continue.
Merry Christmas to all.

Lowick Athletic 5 - 0 Alnmouth FC - 28th Novemeber
On a freezing cold morning at Wooler, Lowick continued their run of good form with a hard earned victory over a resilient Alnmouth team.
After a slow goalless start to the match it was Thomas Warcup who gave Lowick the lead with a fantastic effort from long range that took a slight deflection before eventually finding the net. That was the end of the action for the first half which in truth was a scrappy, physical 20 minutes.
The second half however was a different story and Lowick came out of their shells and produced some of their best passing of the season. Firstly a brilliantly directed free kick from Ben Fairbairn found Marco Lambert who produced a smart finish to make it 2-0 and just a couple of minutes later Lambert grabbed his second of the game in superb fashion when he collected a weak goal kick from the opposition keeper and lobbed it straight back over him from almost the half-way line.
With Lowick now playing their free flowing, attacking football they soon stretched their lead when Warcup skipped inside the defence and drilled a great shot back across the keeper to grab his second of the game, and it was soon 5-0 when Ross Bagley played in Ross Hindmarsh who secured the game with a smart finish.Credit to the Lowick defence, with Aiden, Ben, Lewis and Thomas all putting in some fantastic effort. - Trevor Slater

Lowick Athletic 3 - 3 Seahouses - 21st Novemeber
Lowick continued their unbeaten start to the season after a very entertaining 3-3 draw with Seahouses.
Things got off to a perfect start for Lowick when after only 3 minutes Ross smashed a great strike from distance past the Seahouses keeper with the help of a slight deflection. It was 2-0 to the claret and blues a few minutes later when a perfect through-ball from Fraser found Marco who thumped an unstoppable shot into the net.
Some outstanding defensive work from Lewis kept the opposition out and ensured that it remained 2-0 at half time. However Alan Fairbairn’s half-time words of wisdom had an adverse effect as Lowick were pegged back to 2-2 after only 10 minutes of the 2nd half! With only 5 minutes left on the clock Seahouses scored what looked like a winning goal when a shot from distance took a couple of deflections and found its way into the goal. Credit to the Lowick lads who kept their heads up and their persistence paid off when, with only a minute left, a fine solo goal from Ryan secured a point and kept Lowick in contention at the top of the league.
The managerial team would like to give a special mention to Thomas who gave an outstanding performance as a stand in goalkeeper. Credit is due to everybody involved in the match for the spirit in which the game was played, spectated and coached. - Trevor Slater
Managers Man of the Match – Lewis TaitLowick Athletic 6 - 3 Rothbury Eclipse - 7th Novemeber
Lowick continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 6-3 victory over Rothbury.Things didn't start too well for Lowick as they went a goal behind despite dominating the game early on, only some outstanding saves from the opposition goalkeeper prevented Lowick from drawing level sooner.
The equaliser did come soon after though, a goalmouth scramble after a corner resulted in Fraser Gorvett tapping in from close range. Moments later, Marco Lambert scored a terrific volley to make it 2-1 to Lowick. Gorvett then somehow missed an open goal from 1 yard out before scoring his 2nd of the day in style, beating 2 defenders and slotting home. Lambert then got his 2nd goal with a thumping header after good work down the right hand side. A good solo goal from Ross Bagley put Lowick well ahead before Ross Hindmarsh wrapped things up a few minutes from time.
Credit has to go to Lowick for some tremendous passing and the style in which they attacked.
